Profiles Series Reporting on Home Constuction Advances

profiles-series-logo2As our economy continues to recover from a near calamity just a few years ago, one of the surest indicators that things are getting back in track is home construction. As new homes begin to spring up in communities around the country, new ideas are being added that will make homes more efficient than in years past. The Profiles Series is looking at these innovations for an upcoming report.

New materials are helping the modern home to become more energy efficient than ever before. Insulation materials, new sidings, and new types or roofing shingles are helping to keep heat in during the winter and keep it out during the summer.

The Profiles Series TV show is also looking at other innovations that are helping to make homes more energy efficient, including new designs in home appliances. Audiences will hear from designers about how new efficiency standards in HVAC systems, kitchen appliances like ovens and refrigerators, and other appliances like washers and dryers are saving homeowners money through lower energy bills.

Executive Producer Walter Waiters, senior associate producer Joel Walters, associate producers Ryan Chadderton, Rachel Van Drake, Randi Gardner, Scott Kuntz, and Ralph Gonzalez are working on these reports for upcoming episodes.
